CIHS Launches Historic Landmarks Walking Tour
On same Saturday morning, January 25, 2020 the Captiva Island Historical Society held the ceremonial ribbon-cutting of its recently refurbished History Gallery, its self-guided Walking Tour of Captiva Island Historic Landmarks was also introduced.
Following the reveal of the History Gallery makeover, guests congregated in the Captiva Civic Center for the introduction of the self-guided walking tour of historic landmarks. A video continually played on the big screen with descriptions and photos for each of the 12 locations.
Brochures with a map and descriptions were presented, as guests enjoyed coffee and pastry. Board members conducted mini-tours, which included visiting ‘Tween Waters Inn for a tour of “Ding” Darling’s iconic cottage.
Coffee was compliments of Starbucks of Captiva.
